Infinity Science Center Tours - The 35,000-square-foot INFINITY Science Center infuses global science, space, engineering and technology content with innovative programming and interactive experiences for all ages. INFINITY serves as the official visitor center for NASA's Stennis Space Center.
Visitors to the area before Interstate 10 was built can visit the StenniSphere, a small visitor center located at NASA's Stennis Space Center. Tours ran from the small museum several times a day, taking visitors through seemingly incongruous swamps and massive rocket tests on bus routes. In 2001, a group of visionaries came together to create a non-profit foundation that would take over much of StenniSphere's mission and raise funds to build the science center, a regional center for science education and research. NASA was an early partner in the effort, leasing 199 acres of land next to the Mississippi Welcome Center, four miles south of the Stennis Space Center's main entrance. Other government, corporate and private sector partners saw the potential of the project and contributed to the feasibility study, architecture and exhibition design over the next two years.

The Dream survived the devastation left behind by Hurricane Katrina. The Mississippi Governor's Recovery, Restoration and Renewal Commission said the INFINITY Science Center is "vital to the revitalization of the Gulf Coast" and has restarted planning. The state invested 12 million dollars in building the museum. Dedicated in 2012, the INFINITY Science Center now has an educational wing; internal and external findings; Earth and Space Exhibition Gallery; theaters; and live broadcasts and demonstrations. Educational exhibits showcase real-world space and ocean exploration activities conducted by more than 30 laboratories and offices in the nearby research complex. INFINITY's CaFe and Odyssey Gift Shops cater to interstate travelers and Stennis Space Center employees.

In the few years it has been open, INFINITY has received an average of 60,000 visitors annually, and the numbers are steadily growing. After the 2010 Deep Water Horizon oil spill, the state of Mississippi identified INFINITY as one of five recipients of recovery funding and tasked the science center with educating future generations about environmental conservation. Between now and 2018, returning visitors and school groups will enjoy enhanced nature trails, environmental stewardship education programs, tram rides on the Possum Walkway, new indoor and outdoor attractions and more.
