In recent years, semi-automatic pistols have been considered self-defense weapons, but concealed carry revolvers hold their own when shooting. The time-tested design is offered in some of the best self-defense calibers, is easy to use, and is as reliable as the next morning. And there are some great, well-designed options on the revolver market designed to keep your gun belt ready and delivering when called upon.
Before we get to the best concealed carry revolver buyer's guide, we should take a minute to talk about the self-defense option. It's not an ideal choice for everyone, especially entry-level shooters. Yes, the guy behind the gun counter would have sworn otherwise, but guess what - he sold you something, he probably didn't have your best intentions in mind.
Barrel Length: Concealed carry revolvers are one of the most compact handguns, mainly due to the compact barrel. We're talking 3 inches or less. It's small. Certainly a lighter magnum can't match the velocity of a 6 inch revolver, but not by much. That being said, you are well equipped with this LCRx. As for its extra size, especially compared to many other options on this list, yes, it is large. However, not restrictive. Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, it's impossible not to notice that Colt is back in the double-action revolver game. The relaunched Snake gun line has generated all sorts of buzz, but none more so than the return of the King Cobra in .357 Magnum. This relatively small 6-shot revolver, no longer designed for service, has all the makings of a great concealed carry option - especially now that the Bob-Hammer has been released.
The King Cobra Carry is similar to the Hammer model released in early 2019, except that the stock is not shaved and features a 2-inch barrel. These modifications give the revolver excellent carry characteristics, making the shorter barrel as easy to carry as most .38 Specials. A bob haircut accentuates its already wartless frame.

However, there are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to King Cobra. First of all, the 2-inch barrel doesn't make the magnum's performance any easier - it doesn't drop to +P .38 standard, but it doesn't beat it either. Next, all that burning powder has to go somewhere, and that's a burst of flame from the cone. As for the hammer, the weapon is a simple DAO that you don't have to worry about if you buy a carry.
Overall, the stainless steel concealed carry revolver is attractive, with overmolded grips and a brass beaded front sight and integrated rear sight. The gun holds six rounds and weighs a very manageable 26 ounces. Overall, this is a great addition to the party and a great choice for those who prefer iron in their arsenal. MSRP: $849
Not a new concealed carry revolver by any stretch of the imagination, but worth adding to the list. The M206 Spurless is a true workman's .38 Special, short on glitz and glamor and long on performance. And most importantly, affordable! This is rare these days, but very welcome.
